Reports of men in black date back to at least the 1940s. Described as dressing in all-black suits and black hats, these shadowy figures are said to deliver veiled threats to those who dare to discuss publicly the existence of UFOs and aliens. Who there are is a mystery, with speculation ranging from government-backed agencies charged with keeping extraterrestrial secrets out of the hands of ordinary citizens, to extraterrestrials themselves, intent on observing those with connections to alien activity.
In 2014, a man in his 50s, acting under the alias Jack Smith, spoke out about being menaced by men in black for most of his life. It was an encounter that year, in New Orleans, Louisiana, that had prompted him to finally speak out about his traumatic experiences.
It was Sunday 13th April, 2014, and Jack was meeting with his friend, Jane (also an alias), for sightseeing and lunch in New Orleans. Whilst waiting for a street car to arrive at the French Quarter’s Bienville Street station, Jack and Jane noticed that they were being watched by a pair of strange-looking men.
During an exclusive interview with UFOGrid.com, Jane described the men as looking like “identical twins”.
“They were slim, and much taller than the average person. They were dressed in identical black suits, white shirts, skinny black ties, fedoras, and black sunglasses. They were pale, they were stiff, and they moved eerily in unison. They had oblong faces with a thin line for a mouth.” – Jane
Jane’s first response was that the men were dressed for a performance, as their clothes seemed inappropriate for the hot weather. As minutes passed the two men in black continued to watch Jack and Jane. This tense encounter lasted for some time, before the street car finally arrived and Jack and Jane were able to get away. As for the two men, they left the station, walking away from the street car – despite having waited for at least twenty minutes – and got into a black car across the street.
Jack was able to film the encounter on his cell phone, something which he had never been able to do before. This was also the first time he had seen men in black in the company of someone he trusted. He explained his relief at someone having seen them with him.
Despite having filmed the strange men, all attempts to share the video have been unsuccessful, with files mysteriously vanishing. Jack has, however, been able to share still images of the men in black he and Jane encountered that day.

Whilst shocking for having occurred in broad daylight, Jack’s encounter with two men in black in April 2014 in New Orleans is supposedly just one of many haunting incidents in his life. Despite being worried about the repercussions of publicising his encounters, Jack explained in the interview that he was hopeful he could help others struggling in silence.
“Whatever or whoever uses these [men in black] to keep us in fear to control us, is despicable. We didn’t ask for this to happen to us, we are in a sense survivors. To have time stolen from you and to have your free will taken away is one of the most frightening things that could happen to a conscious human being.” – Jack
Jack’s childhood extraterrestrial experiences
When asked why he thought he was a person on interest to the mysterious men in black, Jack cited a childhood encounter with boy with “no hair and big eyes”. Jack had been five-years-old at the time, playing with other children from the neighbourhood in a wooded area behind his home in Baltimore. When he met the strange child, his appearance had made Jack feel uncomfortable, however, he had assumed that the boy’s malformations were the result of tragedy, such as being in a fire. It was not until two other boys resembling the first appeared that Jack’s discomfort intensified.
Following his new friend through the woods, Jack claims that he heard a strange “humming noise.” As they walked together, the While they walked, the peculiar boy showed Jack an object, which Jack at first thought was a toy. One side of the square object looked like paper, the other side, however, was unusual and emitted a light.
“It was a beam of darkness. It would behave like a flashlight but it would flood the trees and bushes in the beam of ‘night’ not light. It also made a buzzing sound when it was turned on.” – Jack
What happened next, according to Jack, is muddled. He claimed to have seen a metallic craft the size of a small van, before being enveloped in a beam of dark light. After being unconscious for sometime, Jack woke up close to where he had seen the craft and the three hairless beings – all now gone. Young Jack was covered in bruises, and his leg was wounded, leaving him with a scoop-shaped mark, now a scar. Such marks are commonly reported by those who claim to have been abducted by aliens.
Jack also claimed to have encountered the same strange entities years later, when he was sixteen and living in Pennsylvania. At the time he was suffering with inexplicable health problems and terrifying dreams, waking up with blood stains on his bedding from nose bleeds. This lasted for three years, between 1973 and 1976. Despite visiting the doctor, having his nose cauterised and being told he was just having bad dreams, Jack stated his experiences were something else. In the interview he explained that it was his belief that the strange beings from his childhood had returned, and were “taking” him.
These experiences, he stated in the interview, are why he has been harassed by men in black for decades. Despite living in different locations and traveling around the world, they have always found him.
“They have let me know that I could be found where ever I was.” – Jack 1
